Gallery Hours for Mao K. Sato’s solo show at Headwaters Arts Center.

Mao K. Sato received his BFA from art university in Tokyo and made the move to Brooklyn in 1983. Sato moved upstate in 2000, where he settled in Bloomville. He lives and works out of the creamery famous for being the first commercial pasteurization plant in the US. His work has been featured in several group and solo shows in both Tokyo and New York. Sato has an eye that captures the everyday, the mundane, the happenstance, the beautiful- the everything. With a repertoire that spans from photography, to painting, to sculpture; Sato creates a mood with his art that can be considered both serene and severe at the same time.
