Partner/Owner Elisabeth (Morkaut) Van Houten was born and raised on Stryker Road in Gilboa, NY. Elisabeth and her husband, Darin, reside in Orangeburg, NY where they own Rockland County’s first & only hard cidery, Rockland Cider Works, located at their farm & garden center Van Houten Farms.
Our cider production began in 2018. In the Spring of 2021 the opportunity to acquire the existing B&B property at Elisabeth’s family’s farm in Gilboa became a reality when Darin’s cousin Delana (Wyckoff) Truesdell agreed to join their team as General Manager of what is now Rockland Cider Works – Upstate (Cidery & Guesthouse).
Our tasting bar is located under an expansive pavilion. All of our cider is naturally sugar-free and gluten-free and made with 100% NY State apples. We also offer other NY State produced beers, wines & spirits. Our LIVE MUSIC schedule can be found on our cidery website, Facebook and Instagram.
Food trucks are on-site most Saturdays & Sundays. Vacation rental accommodations are available on and off-site. Primitive camping sites are scheduled for Fall 2021. Mountain tents scheduled for Summer 2022.
